How to Perform a Screen Capture

Essential Question: Is it possible to take a picture of the computer screen at anytime?  If so, what are some ways you could find this useful?

Purpose: For most assignments, I will ask you to do a screen shot, or screen capture (they're the same) of your work.  With this screen capture, you can prove to me that you have completed the given task.  Most importantly, we can share and view these screen captures to gain feedback on assignments.

Teacher Demonstration:

Student Activity: Place Micorsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Paint in the Start Menu
1. Click on the Start Button > All Programs > Microsoft Office.
2. Right Click on Microsoft Office and Choose 'Pin to Start Menu'
3. Repeat this process for PowerPoint and Paint.  The Path to Paint is: Start > All Programs > Accessories> Paint.
4. Once all three are viewable within the Start Menu, complete a Screen Capture of the Start Menu.
5. Edit the screen capture (PRT SCRN) in Paint to have only the menu visible.
6. Save the Image as a .JPG and please name it: 'FirstName_LastInitial_StartMenu' in My Documents
7. Submit the .JPG as an attachment LoopMail with the Subject: 'Start Menu'
